A 49-year-old Tuskahoma man died in single-car accident Wednesday approximately 4:52 p.m. on Highway 63 and Aslin Prairie Road.

Justin A. Kirkes was driving west when his vehicle departed the road to the right, continued through the ditch, struck a private driveway and rolled an unknown number of times.

The driver was ejected during the accident and was deceased.

He had no passengers and was not wearing his seatbelt.

Arkansas Early Onslaught Leads to 105-85 Victory over Texas

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – In his last home game as a Razorback, senior Trevon Brazile had a career-high 28 points while Darius Acuff Jr. became the only high-major player in the NCAA to have 28 points and 13 assists in a game this season to lead #20/19 Arkansas to a 105-85 victory Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena. 

Brazile made his first six shots of the night, including three 3-pointers, and finished going 9-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point, and 7-of-8 at the line in scoring his career high. He added seven rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals. 

Acuff was 4-of-6 from deep and 8-of-10 at the line as he recorded his 20th, 20-point game of the season while tying his career-high with 13 assists for his fifth double-double of the season, which is a school record for most point/assist double-doubles in a season. He is the first Razorback (on record) to have at least 24 points and 10 assists.

 Arkansas opened the game on a 19-4 run as Texas did not score its sixth point until the 13:34 mark. The Hogs led by 22 at halftime and held at least a 15-point lead the entire second half. 

D.J. Wagner added 13 points, his best point production since scoring 14 versus James Madison on Dec. 29, while Meleek Thomas had 13 points. Billy Richmond III had his 20-point scoring streak snapped at six games, finishing with eight, but he had a career-high nine rebounds while tying his career-highs in blocked shots (3) and steals (3). 

Matas Vokietaitis led Texas with 21 points and seven rebounds and Dailyn Swain added 16 points and nine rebounds. 

Arkansas closes the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 7) at Missouri. Tipoff is CoMo is set for 11 am (CT) and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Catfish opportunity is better at the upper end of the lake. The water temp is still cool, but catfish have been biting on cut bait and chicken. Live shad have been a little hard to locate but in the shallow water in the afternoons seem to be the best time. Striper below the dam have been good on live shad. They are also biting on live shad in the main lake. Catfish are good around river channels and the mouth of river.
